Services

General & family dentistry in Racine & Milwaukee

Cleanings, exams, digital x-rays, fillings, sealants and gum care for every age — the routine visits that quietly prevent almost everything else.

Overview

What a routine visit includes

Most of what goes wrong with teeth is cheaper, easier and far less uncomfortable to fix early. That is the whole argument for a routine visit: a hygienist removes what a toothbrush cannot reach, and a dentist finds the small problems while they are still small.

At My Smiles USA we see children, adults and grandparents in the same practice, often on the same afternoon. Visits run long enough that nothing is hurried, and you always see what we see — on screen, explained in plain language, before any decision is made.

  • A full examination of teeth, gums, bite and soft tissue
  • An oral cancer screening at every checkup
  • Low-radiation digital x-rays when they are due
  • Professional cleaning and polish
  • Fluoride treatment and sealants where they help
  • A written plan for anything that needs attention
In detail

Care we provide

01

Checkups and cleanings

Twice a year for most people; more often if you have gum disease, smoke, or are prone to decay. We will tell you honestly which applies to you.

02

Tooth-coloured fillings

Composite fillings bonded to the tooth, matched to your shade. No new silver amalgam is placed at either office.

03

Gum (periodontal) care

From treating early gingivitis through scaling and root planing for established gum disease, with a maintenance plan afterwards.

04

Children’s dentistry

First visits, sealants, fluoride and habit advice, delivered at a pace children can handle — and with parents in the room.

05

Night guards and sports guards

Custom-made appliances to protect teeth from grinding, clenching and contact sports.

06

Extractions

When a tooth genuinely cannot be saved, removal is done gently, with a clear plan for replacing it if you want to.

Good to know

General and Family Dentistry — questions answered

How often should I see a dentist?

Most adults do well with a checkup and cleaning every six months. If you have gum disease, smoke, are pregnant, or have a history of frequent decay, we may recommend every three or four months. We will explain why rather than simply booking you more often.

When should my child first see a dentist?

The American Dental Association recommends a first dental visit by the child’s first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Early visits are short, friendly and mostly about making the chair feel normal.

Do dental cleanings hurt?

A routine cleaning should not hurt. If your gums are inflamed it can feel tender, and we can numb the area. Tell your hygienist — there is always something we can do to make it easier.

How much does a checkup and cleaning cost?

Most dental insurance covers preventive visits at or near 100 percent. Without insurance, our new-patient exam, digital x-rays and cleaning are available from $99. We confirm the cost before your appointment.

Do you see patients who have not been to a dentist in years?

Every week. There is no lecture waiting for you. We look at where things stand today, tell you what is urgent, and build a plan you can actually work through.
